About this artwork
This work features a sunrise over the Green Mountains. To achieve the color of the sunrise, I dyed the canvas a light magenta, and then created the layered mountains on top of that. The mountain layers were created using inks and earth pigments diluted in water, which I carefully - so carefully! - moved around the canvas to create shapes.
