About this artwork
My painting The Waiting Room made it to the semifinal round of the 16th ARC International Salon. Thank you, ARC judges! The idea is about two very different types of people thrown together in a random setting. Maybe a waiting room of some sort. Both hoping for a meaningful relationship with someone. But probably not much chance of breaking out of their predetermined comfort zones. Although, who knows what sweet, simple and unexpected object or idea… could cause them to exchange a sentence or two? Good things can grow from unexpected sources. Side note: he is reading a fictional paper based on Brandon Sanderson’s Stormlight Archives.
Embracing 'Narrative Realism,' Lawrence McAdams brings 20 years of surfing passions to canvas with traditional paint, his California roots deeply entrenched in each brushstroke. He skillfully manipulates color and perspective, often blending the onrush of the sea with human spirit and introspection, capturing the elusive stories of life's grand tapestry. His art resonates with the enchantment of adventure, the ache of longing, and the sublime grace of the world's natural beauty.
