About this artwork
A human figure emerges from a solid block of robinia wood, roughly hewn yet full of quiet dignity. The figure sits, its gaze tilted, as if listening to itself or the world. Its face remains featureless—a "blank" surface that allows each viewer space to add their own thoughts and feelings.
The angular marks of the tool inscribe the body into the wood like memories, each notch a breath, each surface a fragment of movement and time. Despite the weight… of the material, the figure appears slightly detached, detaching itself from existence.
Thus, the hardness and durability of the robinia is combined with the fragility of the human moment – a pause, captured in wood that continues to breathe
