About this artwork
In this work the artist has represented a person swimming in a rust-colored sea. He is heedless of what may lie beneath him. Often, when we swim in the sea, we forget that an incredible ecosystem of living beings is hidden beneath us. The sea is not ours, and we must respect it. The swimmer is immersed in a sea of rust, polluted by heavy industry, but nonetheless he swims serene and unaware of the damage that we men inflict on the sea.
