In this artwork created on paper in 2022, Len Vernaghi depicted a fictional woman. The woman is lying down and sleeping, dreaming, occupying the entire foreground of the painting. The work is made with acrylic color on high quality paper and measures 35 centimeters in height and 50 centimeters in width. The painting, which has not been framed, is metaphorically divided into two parts, one of which is represented by the woman's face; the other part,… which should portray the woman's naked body and her bed, however, is entirely made up of shades of various shades, which make this second part of the painting abstract. Therefore, here the artist dared to mix different painting styles. The woman's face, painted in blue yellow and green, is serene and beautiful. It seems that the woman's dreams have taken possession of her body, so the woman's body is a metaphor for the dream dimension that takes over reality.
Len Vernaghi, originally from Porrentruy but deeply rooted in Italy, is a multidisciplinary person: painter, photographer, designer, textile artist, engraver, sculptor. He stands out for his portable fresco technique, combining traditional pigments with alternative solutions, and uniting contrasting themes and styles. Her works reveal a powerful socio-political commitment, giving voice to frugality, nature, femininity and marginal places, with an atmosphere of wonder derived from her dreamlike subjects.
