In this work Len Vernaghi has captured and depicted the vibrant and colorful essence of autumn, representing foliage along the bank of a river. The subject of the work is a pair of fishermen, whose silhouettes stand out thanks to the black, while they catch a fish by throwing the hook into the water. With each brushstroke of oil, the artist has given life to the explosive colors of the leaves that are reflected in the water, framing the fishermen… immersed in the tranquility of the moment. This work, a cross between expressionism and semi-abstract inspired by fluid art and contemporary expressionism of Anglo-American origin, celebrates the simplicity and serenity of nature as well as the joy of small daily escapes. The painting is almost the representation of a dreamlike and childish world, where nature and peace reign.
Len Vernaghi, originally from Porrentruy but deeply rooted in Italy, is a multidisciplinary person: painter, photographer, designer, textile artist, engraver, sculptor. He stands out for his portable fresco technique, combining traditional pigments with alternative solutions, and uniting contrasting themes and styles. Her works reveal a powerful socio-political commitment, giving voice to frugality, nature, femininity and marginal places, with an atmosphere of wonder derived from her dreamlike subjects.
