About this artwork
In this piece, I have fused the abstract with the figurative, using acrylics to create a piece that invites introspection. The earthy palette and gold accents capture a duality of ancient and sacred, while the subject’s expression suggests a deep narrative of internal struggle and resilience. With each brushstroke, I seek to evoke emotions that will resonate in the space, lending an aura of mystery and contemplation.
"BLACK COMEDY" is the name of… a series of paintings with a certain relief where figurative abstraction is summoned in its most open and profound interpretation, highlighting the creative aspects and pictorial resources where warm colors merge in a dry and ambiguous environment treated with textures full of soft glazes with their transparent layers, creating an ethereal atmosphere, as if the sun were caressing every corner. This 92 x 60 cm work is an evocation of the black man and his image in multiple cultures.
