About this artwork
With "The Tulip Grace," I wanted to orchestrate a profound dialogue between the sinuous elegance of the Belle Époque and the raw intensity of my modern minimalism. In this work, I explored the concept of controlled movement: I rendered the intricate, rhythmic flow of the hair—inspired by the iconic waves of Art Nouveau—to create a deliberate contrast with the subject's sharp, confident profile.
I chose a specific palette of deep black, vivid crimson,… and acid green to generate a sophisticated chromatic tension that defines the space. For me, the oversized tulips aren't just a frame; they represent a blossoming sovereign authority. Through this piece, I explore feminine power: calm, grounded, and absolute.
