About this artwork
I painted an everyday, annoying housefly to show that, if you look and feel with empathy, it's actually a very special, beautiful, and useful creature. For me, this is a metaphor for so-called "normal, insignificant" people, who are truly extraordinary. But sometimes you have to make an effort to see them. My starting point is that everyone deserves to be truly seen.
