In 'Zielsverwanten' ontmoeten mens en dier elkaar in stilte - een moment van wederzijds begrip dat voorbij woorden gaat. De vrouw, gehuld in kledij van levendige kleuren en een hoofdtooi vol veren, lijkt kracht en rust te delen met de hond naast haar. Hun blikken raken elkaar niet, maar hun energie vloeit samen i de dynamische penseelstreken en het licht dat over hen speelt.
De warme tinten geel, rood en oranje symboliseren levenslust en trouw,… terwijl de koele accenten van blauw en groen balans brengen. Dit schilderij vangt de oeroude band tussen mens en dier, tussen instinct en bewustzijn, tussen kracht en zachtheid. Het werk wordt verzonden zonder frame.
