About this artwork
“The 5 Elements” series
WATER
I always felt that this being my element, it was something that dominated me, but living on an island in the Mexican Caribbean made me realize that this was much deeper and I had never experienced it before the whole process of inner self-transformation that I was going through.
That's how I began to integrate it into myself, letting the deepest emotions stored in my psyche surface. They began to emerge, and while… my process was accompanied by energy movement sessions, I began to study InnerDance with a Filipino, a process where I learned to move my internal energies to begin breaking the rock that prevented me from feeling. Just as all beings do, it's automatic and natural when we feel a strong pain that blocks us. This is how this work of Water was born; this is how I integrated it, and I understand that it is the largest component within us, and to prevent it from stagnating, we must move our waters.
Lina Arias is a Colombian visual artist and muralist who primarily uses acrylic on canvas, spray paint, collage, photography, and drawing, with a strong background in visual and graphic arts. Her technique combines mystical, surreal, and ritualistic elements, fusing symbols, geometries, and figures that function as portals to memory and healing. Her works, exhibited internationally, emanate a magical vibration, connecting the spiritual and nature with inner transformation, inviting introspection, unity, and a sense of the energy that pulsates in each composition.
