About this artwork
Edge of Light | 40 × 60 diptych (two 40 × 30 panels) | Oil on canvas
This original coastal oil painting is a large-scale diptych inspired by the California coastline, where open ocean meets windswept cliffs and wild poppies. Painted with a palette knife, the piece moves between calm horizon and vibrant foreground, bringing both stillness and energy into the space.
Designed as a diptych, the two panels can be displayed together as one continuous… 40 × 60 statement piece, or hung separately to suit different interiors. The composition flows naturally across both canvases, creating a sense of movement and cohesion while allowing flexibility in placement.
This is a one-of-a-kind original painting, created using professional-grade oil paints on gallery-wrapped canvas with finished edges. No framing is required

« My artistic vision is to share a journey of joy and connection with my happy paintings. I aim to tell my multilayered story with energetic passion. »
Lisa Elley is a contemporary landscape artist whose large-scale palette knife paintings celebrate the light, atmosphere, and rugged beauty of the California coast. Through expressive layers of oil paint and confident, sculptural texture, she creates work that feels both timeless and deeply connected to place.
Inspired by Big Sur, Monterey Bay, and the ever-changing Pacific shoreline, Lisa's paintings are designed to bring a sense of serenity, warmth, and understated luxury into the home. Her collectors are drawn not only to the vibrancy of her work, but to its ability to evoke the feeling of standing quietly within the landscape itself.
Her paintings have been exhibited throughout the United States and are held in private collections around the world. Based on California's Central Coast, Lisa continues to explore new interpretations of the landscapes that have become her signature.
