About this artwork
That Window in Oingt was inspired by a quiet corner I discovered while exploring the medieval village of Oingt in France. The bright blue shutters caught my eye immediately—bold and weathered, framed by ivy and bursting flowers that seemed to grow effortlessly around them. It felt like a storybook moment, simple and full of life.
I wanted to capture that feeling—how beauty often hides in everyday details. I used palette knives to build texture into… the stone, the vines, and the blooms, giving the piece a sense of richness and touchable depth. It’s not just a window—it’s a glimpse into stillness, history, and the poetry of a well-loved place.
This painting is my way of honoring those quiet spots that stay with us long after we’ve left.
