About this artwork
I was on a long vacation (the longest in my life), there was a lot of sun, sea of warmth. When I returned, I gladly took up work, but ... on the 5th day of hard work, I realized that everything was not right. The girls whom I painted in oils, to whom I am so accustomed (sad, thoughtful), did not satisfy me as a creator in any way. I dropped the oil and took up my original painting, continuing to experiment with the "stone washing" technique.…
when I saw these eyes, I was delighted, my soul began to sing. What tenderness! what an unearthly light and kindness. You will not see such young girls in my paintings. The same delicate color scheme (my favorite blue ones rested a little). I realized that my vacation brought me considerable benefit, as well as accumulated the warmth of the sun and positive energy and splashed it out in this picture.

Liubou Sas is a prize-winning artist based in Belarus whose paintings have been exhibited nationally. Her disctinctive landscapes ,abstractions and portraits are created in a particular style which is influenced by both expressionism and impressionism. What interests Sas most in her artistic process is the "person as an image" and the translation of their spirit onto canvas. She most often creates using acrylics and oils.
