In my work, "Echoes of Tradition," I explore the profound truth that culture is not a separate entity we carry, but the very soil in which we are rooted. I have reimagined the landscape not as mere earth and water, but as a living, breathing tapestry woven from the history of its people.
The central motif of this piece is the integration of Al-Sadu patterns directly into the terrain. By using these geometric bands—historically hand-woven by nomadic… tribes—to form the riverbanks and hills, I am making a statement about the permanence of heritage.
The river serves as the narrative thread through this woven world. As the figures engage in the timeless acts of fishing, boating, and communal labor, they become part of a continuous cycle. They are not just inhabitants of the land; they are the hands that maintain the weave.
