About this artwork
The artwork belongs to the "Roaming the world" series and was inspired by my travel to Antigua, Guatemala.
An old colonial building reflects its past and enigmas in the small water of the nearby pond.
The quiet atmosphere invites to contemplation and peace.
Oil on canvas (stretched on wooden frame). Size 60 x 40 cm. Original artwork, signed on the back. Framed (plastic, wood-like, grayish brown – see pictures).
Livia-Doina Stanciu, a Romanian painter based in Bucharest, primarily works in oils, drawing on formal training and a deep personal journey from education and management to visual art. She masterfully blends realistic and quasi-impressionistic styles, often infusing elements of abstraction and minimalism while maintaining luminous detail and atmospheric depth. Her artworks, inspired by nature, travel, and inner landscapes, evoke a contemplative tranquility, offering viewers a profound sense of beauty and emotional resonance.
