About this artwork
In this painting, I channel the beauty of a spectacular Sunset I witnessed at Miramar Beach in Northern California one particular day, with the raw untamed energy of a majestic horse running in from the surf after frolicking in the waves all day. The horse is somewhat symbolic, perhaps representing myself and the joy I was feeling on my lovely trip to my hometown to visit friends, but also the horse is inspired by the real life horses of Camargue… in France who frolic in the ocean there. I set my playful horse against the dramatic backdrop of a Sunset sea, using the delicious oranges and cool blues and greys. Done in acrylics and ink, I blended realism with a touch of impressionism, creating a powerful, emotive scene that stirs the soul. This artwork is intended to infuse any space with a spirit of adventure and the profound beauty of unbridled nature.
A mixed media artist, London Wilde, primarily uses acrylics, ink, layered with oil paint or pastels, stemming from a childhood entrancement with watercolors. By combining water flow techniques with traditional brushwork, her art reflects contemporary Asian and Feng Shui themes and often features natural subjects enhanced by Mandarian calligraphy. Her work, a dialogue of trauma and transformation, floods the modern spaces with vitality and tranquility.
