About this artwork
Who is 'I'? If we remove the anchors from habitual identifications, if we remove our grip from what we are used to considering ourselves, then finally our thoughts will whirl, they will soar in open space. In their flow, in the impermanence of every psychic and emotional event, the field of a greater "I" opens up which opens its horizons to infinity.

« My art is a meditative act. My goal is to seek my elevation by depositing the fruits of my inner work on the canvas. »
Lorenzo Sperzaga is an Italian painter whose works have been widely exhibited on a national level. Inspired by the Baroque, his paintings feature subjects with dramatic expressions, and contain symbolism associated with spiritual themes. He also explores the interplay between light and shadow, and the symbolism inherent in both. Sperzaga's artistic process focuses on the 'emotional condition' and concentration. He creates using oils, enamels, and acrylics on canvas.
