About this artwork
losing one's gaze on the horizon, in front of the vastness of the sea: abandoning oneself and rediscovering a broader self... one thus discovers that one belongs to that immensity full of light and heat and that one is a living part of it

« My art is a meditative act. My goal is to seek my elevation by depositing the fruits of my inner work on the canvas. »
Lorenzo Sperzaga is an Italian painter whose works have been widely exhibited on a national level. Inspired by the Baroque, his paintings feature subjects with dramatic expressions, and contain symbolism associated with spiritual themes. He also explores the interplay between light and shadow, and the symbolism inherent in both. Sperzaga's artistic process focuses on the 'emotional condition' and concentration. He creates using oils, enamels, and acrylics on canvas.
