About this artwork
The initial layer of 'Effervescence' is a fine metallic gold. The additional layers have tones of warm off white, soft blush, light grey, and a soft lavender. They were applied using a variety of viscosities of paint to add additional depth and interest. Finally a wash of warm earth brown applied from the edges in toward the center ground the painting. The result is a painting that reminded me of champagne bubbles and joy.
« I enjoy watching the way paint moves while I work. As I follow the paint eventually a landscape will appear, like magic. »
Lori Latham is an American artist whose works have been widely exhibited on a national level. Drawn to painting abstract landscapes, she employs bold colors and strives to create pieces that soothe and restore the soul. Through her art, Lantham invites the viewer on a journey to "find the secret hideaway that calls to them". Using thin layers of acrylics with a wide variety of non-traditional painting tools, and in the application and removal of paint, the landscape eventually appears.
