About this artwork

Freedom is what I yearn for the most. It's why I became a full time artist.

This piece is painted while on maternity leave with my first born daughter. The time was very conflicting as my freedom was suddently very limited by this little creature I'd do anything for but at the same time I was going crazy with so little time to create freely.

The flowy background is free, but there's that strict blue box limiting the free flow and giving structure… to it. Structure that it needs - that makes the freedom even sweeter.

Strong semi-abstract landscape when hung horizontally, totally abstract when vertical. Piece of blue painted canvas from another painting. Delicious bright pink, purple, rose and burned sienna. Flowy and edgy at the same time. Ying & yang.

Lotta Sirén is an artist based in Finland whose works have been exhibited internationally. Insisting that she doesn't want to take art too seriously, she endeavors to keep an open mind and to explore different techniques and color combinations every day. Painting whatever she feels is beautiful at the moment, the key message in Sirén's paintings is to remember to enjoy life. Sirén has Master's in Business, but has been a full-time artist for six years now ever since she found her true passion in abstract art.
