About this artwork
Took myself and The Wuffians for an early morning walk by the river to find the Sun hadn't yet melted the dusting of frost from the trees on the other side. The light was beautiful, hazy and just took my breath away. The dogs seemed not to notice..

This piece is part of my 'Upcycled' series of paintings where I find unloved prints in charity shops and try to give them a second life.
I like to think of myself as an easy-going person who has reached a stage in life where my goals are simple and achievable; gratitude, kindness, happiness, contentment & the good health to enjoy them. I am a self trained artist and have been enjoying painting for around five years now. My first paintings were on card, then canvas, then to my current love, up-cycled paintings. I didn't like framing so decided to use old framed prints bought from local charity shops and make them into something new, something personal to me. I find the process of stripping the frames and repairing them first very satisfying indeed and the frame itself is most often my inspiration as well as the material as well as trying to incorporate leftover bits from other pieces. No waste here! Currently I’m using packing materials that some painting supplies are sent in as they are great for depth, texture and contrast. I love creating 2D/3D art whether it be the sea, a mountain or something completely abstract.
