About this artwork
In creating this work, I have embraced the duality of the figurative and the semi-abstract, blending acrylics with gilding, in a visual dialogue that explores textures and contrasts. The shimmering gold emerges as a symbol of intrinsic preciousness, almost a metaphor for the inner search for what is truly precious. This work brings a vibrant and profound energy into your home, inviting each viewer to a personal journey of discovery and emotion. … The work is partially material and partially covered with epoxy resin because I tried to depict a dualism that is always present in me but that does not represent a sign of indecision, but rather the desire to represent my world made of highs and lows, colors and black. I made two paintings similar in size and subject so as to give the possibility of uniting them on the same wall to be able to illuminate it.
Joy, cheerfulness and opacity, depression, fury...and finally always the hope of a better world
Luana Baldi, a native of Tuscany, mixes cement, plaster and glue to create contemporary and abstract canvases full of materiality. His style oscillates between the opacity of acrylic and the shine of tar, creating bold contrasts. His works are a chromatic journey into emotional depth, from the intense black of the night to the boundless blue of the sea. My review made by the art critic Daniela Pronestì: https://heyzine.com/flip-book/f807aaf004.html
