Alchemy 40 is the realization of a strong desire to paint an old landscape in a style derived from Turner's, but with an abstract touch. The choice of a small format quickly became obvious given the technical constraints of acrylics. I wanted to paint simultaneously using two opposing techniques: blending and glazing. The first involves mixing colors directly on the canvas, while the second involves layering them through transparency.
