About this artwork
Espaces X is the culmination of a minimalist approach to abstract painting. The fields of color come alive primarily through the textured surfaces within them, thus subtly diverting them from their static nature. The interplay between empty and solid forms leads us to consider the surfaces as objects in their own right, while simultaneously creating a tribal character and a Zen-like atmosphere. repurposed from their original function, I used a first layer of very thick white industrial acrylic paint, mixed with acrylic ink. This work embodies simplicity and serenity, where gentle forms float in a warm space. I wanted to create a soothing balance, conducive to introspection. The earthy hues bring a gentle energy, ready to enhance and calm any surrounding space with its harmonious and contemporary presence.

Luc Andrieux is an artist based in France whose works have been presented in several solo and group exhibitions nationally and internationally. For him, painting is like a vital necessity. Through his compositions, Andrieux's goal is to generate a questioning contemplation, to freeze time and to induce an atmosphere suggested by the hidden face of the elements. His abstractions, landscapes and figurative works are most often created using acrylics on canvas, oil being reserved for the treatment of more complex effects. Luc Andrieux does not limit himself to a particular style or theme that would limit his expression but chooses those that are most in line with his vision of the moment.
