About this artwork
Family is a joyful and expressive work that celebrates family bonds in all their diversity. Aligned and linked by hand, the white silhouettes stand out against an intense red background, a symbol of energy, warmth, and emotion. Each character, unique in form and posture, composes a vibrant whole, rhythmic with both difference and unity.
The deliberately simple and instinctive graphic style evokes childhood, spontaneity, and the authenticity of family… bonds. The work invites the viewer to recognize their own story, their loved ones, their balances, and their movements.

Luc Villard is a French painter whose art has been featured in several solo and group exhibitions in France. His abstract pieces contain themes of hidden faces and invented languages. Street art and 'Les Shadocks' (a French animated cartoon created by Jacques Rouxel which aired 1968–1974) have also influenced his compositions. Villard uses both dry and oil pastels, as well as acrylics, on cotton or linen canvases.
