In this photograph, I capture the ephemeral beauty of urban decay, focusing on a portrait from a circus advertisement, exposed to the elements for who knows how long and miraculously stuck to a wall. The fragmented face, which detaches itself from the layers, speaks of its provisional but strong impact nature of human expressions and memories that remain imprinted in us. Through this street photography, I deal with themes of transience and the remnants… of cultural imprints, echoing the enduring yet fleeting essence of our existence. The portrait of this man, almost sarcastic, has resisted tears, rain, wind and sun, bleaching it into a magnificent azure blue kaleidoscope. And he remained alive only thanks to my shot, as a testimony. This artwork will bring a timeless presence to your space, inviting contemplation and a deeper connection to our thoughts and surrounding environment.
Luca Egidio Galessi, an artist rooted in photography, creates dynamic works capturing the torn vestiges of urban advertising billboards. His techniques, like an everyday collector, involve the unique ability to seize the city's essential spirit without digital manipulation. His wordless choruses of urban decay resonate with a vibrant criticism of ephemeral consumer culture, archiving moments of involuntary, street-made art.
