Lucia Emanuela Curzi earned a Bachelor's degree in Media Design from NABA (Nuova
Academy of Fine Arts) and currently serves as a University Professor. Her practice
interrogates the construction of feminine identity within contemporary mass media,
transitioning from a distinguished background in fashion to a visceral painterly language.
Working primarily in oil on linen, Curzi explores the tension between the polished "spectacle"
of the fashion image and the psychological complexity of the subject, often using the motif
of the swan as a liminal threshold between the body and the unconscious.
Her work has been exhibited internationally at prestigious institutions and galleries,
including the Victoria & Albert Museum (London), Tate Britain (London), J/M
Gallery (London, 2024).
Curzi's research is informed by a fifteen-year tenure shaping the visual narratives of global luxury and publishing.
