About this artwork
TERRA is a series inspired by the southern lands of Minas Gerais, Brazil, where I grew up, among the coffee streets.
The work TERRA 4, made with recycled wine corks and wine, is a cry for help from tropical vegetation (IT IS TOO HOT), whose soil is wetted by drops of Italian wine that try to save its health.

Luciana Vilas Boas, from breast cancer survivor to artist, uses recycled corks from wine bottles as a medium. He developed an extraordinary technique of cutting and gluing corks, creating shapes like a puzzle, with shades obtained from the pieces naturally colored by the wine. Her works portray her feminine emotions and convey a strong message of recycling, health and love for life.
