About this artwork
On a Lisbon tram, amidst the silhouettes of passengers etched by the early summer sun, this little girl's direct gaze meets the camera lens. The photograph itself is a mise en abyme. I compose my frame with the depth of that gaze, radiating from the sparkle in her pupils.
