In the HEAD series, the "heads" represent a continuous attempt to look beyond, to seek a light that, even in the constant search of the human being, is always present and fundamental.
For me, HEAD marks a moment of rebirth, where gesture, sign, and light merge into a new form of communication, integrating conceptual language with the visual power of sculpture and drawing. The head is described as a mutable and boundless space, a form that encompasses… both physical and symbolic meanings. It is not just an anatomical element, but a complex territory in which matter and thought coincide, representing a primordial archetype.
They are not portraits, but visionary images that preserve states of mind, inner traces, profound vibrations, they seem like sensitive stones, retaining a humanoid structure but opening up to futuristic references, between fossil and post-human figure.
Luigi Bellinzoni uses ink, graphite, enamel, charcoal, and acrylic on paper and cotton, after training in Rome and London at the Chelsea College of Art. His work integrates calligraphic tradition, manual gesture, and conceptual art, constantly playing with matter and spirit in an unresolved tension. Through vibrant marks and living surfaces, he seeks an unstable balance between physicality and spiritual aspiration. His works convey a subtle restlessness and an unquenchable desire to recompose an original unity, offering experiences of intense emotional engagement.
