About this artwork
Folly is a visual reflection on the ambiguous relationship between technological progress and human identity. At the center of the work emerges an imposing, emotionless mechanical face, a symbol of cold, impersonal rationality that dominates the space.
Within the artificial structure, human faces, marked by time and suffering, emerge. They are not simple figures, but traces of memory, experience, and consciousness, elements that suggest a process… of assimilation in which humanity is being absorbed by the machine.
The work stages an ambivalent metaphor for progress: the promise of evolution and, at the same time, the risk of losing the essence of humanity. Technology appears as a vessel of knowledge that grows by feeding on humanity, to the point of blurring its boundaries. In this unstable equilibrium, the madness evoked by the title is not chaos, but the awareness of transformation.
Folly invites us to question the price of innovation and the preservation of humanity.
