About this artwork
This multimedia painting was created by first putting down a colorful acrylic paint layer. Then oil sticks were applied to create depth and definition of color. Using these oil sticks both as a "doodling stick" and also blending them in created a beautiful, fun and bright picture.
In the process of creating this painting I felt that I needed a "redo" and slapped more color in random places. As it turns out that's exactly what it needed.
I love… the flow and collision of colors in this painting. There is a lot of texture and it speaks to me and I hope it speaks to you.
This painting can be strung vertically or horizontally.
« Sometimes dark and stormy, sometimes whimsical and bright, painting is a way of pouring out my emotions Into my art. »
Lynn MacDonald is an established American painter and sculptor with national exposure. A mathematician turned artist, she works intuitively, focusing particularly on her acute sense of balance and color to compose stylish expressions of moods and moments. Though MacDonald is the first to admit that her paintings usually end up far from their initial intention, she embraces the creative process and revels in the subjective interpretations of her collectors.
