About this artwork
In this work, I wanted to capture the emotional depth of the eye as a window to the soul. I used acrylics in a figurative and impressionistic style to convey feelings of mystery and reflection. Each brushstroke symbolizes an untold story, inviting the viewer to connect with their own inner gaze. Imagine this intense energy filling your space with introspection and strength.
María Ángeles Sánchez Buendía is a painter with a background in economics who has been teaching painting at her academy in Murcia for over twenty years. She primarily uses acrylics and leans towards Impressionism, although she enjoys exploring different techniques and themes. Currently, she is focused on the poetics of feminine beauty and the diverse forms that nature reveals to us. Her works convey a profound sensitivity, seeking to capture and share the beauty she perceives in the world through her paintings. Although beauty is like joy, if you have to look for it outside yourself, it means you don't have it. What I mean is that it's not the things you look at, but the state you're in when you look at them. Because one moment there's nothing there, and the next, there it is. So beautiful it takes your breath away. And the question is: was it already there, or did something within you change enough to allow you to see it? And when you're in that state, doesn't the whole world become magical?
