About this artwork
One landscape, then another. Several layers, several lives. Sometimes abstract, sometimes realistic, the work awaits its moment, its revelation. Thanks to the traces of its past lives, it takes shape and negotiates its metamorphosis, until it reveals itself as it was always meant to be... This work is not stretched on a frame, it is a free canvas, like parchment. Rolled up, then forgotten. Rediscovered and redeployed. It bears the stigmata of its… past lives, the imprints of what it could have been. Its metamorphosis complete, it reveals itself in the tumult of the foam that sprinkles the rocks, in the blue, sometimes turquoise, sometimes deep, of the ocean.
It can be hung as is, transparent, showing its back, floating in the wind. It can also be displayed between two pieces of plexiglass (see photo), stretched on a frame or framed.
« "The canvas has its own life, let it express itself." »
Magalie Ors is a French painter whose work has been featured in national exhibitions. The major themes of her art center around nature and landscapes, as she feels it is important to recognize the fragility of the environment out of fear that it won’t always be there. Ors’ abstract paintings are punctuated with her use of collage, ink, and prints. Her work is mostly acrylic-based.
