This sculpture arose from a longing to make the invisible visible – the delicate, organic lines of galvanized iron wire weave a story of movement and fragility. It brings a dynamic lightness to any space and invites you to feel the balance between strength and fragility. A ray of light breathes life into this unique wire object, creating a captivating interplay of light and shadow that bestows both energy and tranquility.
Maja Hochuli is a trained florist who creates delicate wire sculptures for the home and garden. She has mastered a self-developed weaving technique using galvanized iron wire, inspired by the forms and structures of nature, where symmetry and geometry play a central role. Her artworks capture the fragility and, at the same time, the enduring strength of nature, lending a poetic lightness to any space through subtle plays of light and shadow.
Artist Statement “For me, wire is like a malleable brushstroke that flows through my hands. I continuously and deliberately transfer it to the workpiece, which then grows into a three-dimensional object.”
