About this artwork
The painting Between, from the series Seven Nights, One Silence, is a painterly tale of extreme emotions. Silence and emotions are mutually exclusive, yet it is the aura of calm that allows us to understand personal feelings, talk about them, and release them.
The Seven Nights, One Silence collection consists of seven paintings that complement each other in terms of colour, colour saturation, emotional expression and expressive lines, understated… spots and illustrative shapes.
The paintings in this series can be combined in space by folding them. They can be double-sided. When arranged together, they can form a triptych, a diptych, a set of seven, or they can be presented separately.
However, each of the paintings is a separate story about myself, my emotional experiences, sensations and desires...
The colour scheme of the collection is inspired by the changes in nature, the light of day, night and personal mood.
Majka Dombrowicz is a Polish painter and printmaker with a master’s degree in graphic arts from the University of the Arts in Poznań. She employs a signature style of “aesthetic expressionism,” blending multilayered acrylics, printmaking techniques, and bold physical gestures—sometimes painting with her hands or feet—into expressive, abstract compositions. Her work radiates profound emotion, capturing the vibrancy, memories, and intimate experiences of her life, leaving viewers with images that linger poetically in the imagination and soul.
