About this artwork
In "Into the Light of Happiness," I explore the visceral connection between light and movement. Using a palette knife and thick, sculptural impasto, I wanted the sun to be more than an image—it is a tactile vortex of energy that casts its own shadows across the canvas.
The figure in the vibrant red dress represents a heartbeat within the golden, monochromatic wheat field. To me, this work is a celebration of the "eternal present." We often chase… happiness as if it were a distant horizon, but here, I invite you to stop running and simply bask in the warmth of the immediate moment.
The heavy texture and rhythmic strokes of the field create a spatial dialogue that changes as the light in your room shifts throughout the day. This is a one-of-a-kind piece where the materiality of the oil paint is just as important as the subject itself.
