Vanité invites the viewer to lie down and let themselves be prey to their own existence. It is a reflection on the meaning of our life, of our death with a touch of humor.
This work must be suspended from the ceiling and can be seen lying on a mattress padded with a multitude of strips of multicolored fabric. Vanité is made with thousands of colorful strips of newspaper.
The work hangs from the ceiling with two attachment points and four chains… support it and adjust according to the desired height.
It took hundreds of hours to thread each strip of paper one by one.
For transport Vanity must be suspended in a wooden box so that the strips do not crease.
