About this artwork
In my series of paintings, "Les Tapis Afghans”, I delve into the rich artistry and cultural significance of Afghan carpets. As an abstract intuitional artist, I found these rugs manifesting themselves on my canvas, with their intricate patterns and vibrant colors speaking to me on a profound level. Afghan carpet artistry, deeply rooted in Afghan culture, has been meticulously passed down through generations, embodying the essence of tradition and…
storytelling. However, the shadows of endless conflicts have cast a pall over this art form. Drawing inspiration from the carpets of my upbringing, I aim to honor and preserve Afghan carpet artistry, using my paintings to tell both my personal stories and the broader narrative of Afghanistan. Each brushstroke is a tribute to the resilience and beauty of this art form, seeking to keep its legacy alive and vibrant.

She creates using acrylics, pastels, and collage on canvas or wood.
