About this artwork
An unconventional format to embrace the vastness of the view from the Ansouis Presbytery, where each pastel stroke unfolds the horizon as far as the eye can see. This work was created en plein air, on location, in the style of the Impressionists, during a demonstration day organized by the AMEL collective. A second pastel of this view, "In the Distance, the Ferrier Tower," can be seen on Singulart.

Manon Spina primarily works with dry pastels, sometimes enriched with gouache, drawing on rigorous training under the master pastelist Suzy Estalbo-Baralle. She favors gestural techniques, often using only her hands, on small formats and abrasive papers, inspired by Cézanne and Van Gogh. Her style blends simplicity, captured light, and snapshots of landscapes or portraits, aiming for the essence of the subject. Through her works infused with color and light, she invites us to renew our perspective and (re)discover the unexpected beauty of everyday life.
