About this artwork
The intent of the work is to encourage the individual to face his own fears that arise along the path of life with determination, determination and full courage. The bull also represents his own shadows, the unconscious, the unknown that can torment the individual and make him vulnerable. Orpheus faces this state with determination and does not let himself be dominated by fears, he does not let himself be crushed but dominates the beast. This work… brings energy, strength and vital warmth to every environment, inviting everyone to see the world with eyes full of wonder and courage.
« The inspiration is the perception of a moment when we can do something. »
Marco Stocco, an Italian artist born in 1970, lives between Italy and Brazil. Self-taught and drawn to figurative art, he began his first paintings, often depicting enigmatic female forms and faces. Along his artistic journey, Marco moved to Brazil, where he currently resides. Initially, the pace and vibrant cultural diversity of Brazil shook him and almost disoriented him emotionally, but then, through observation, he perceived and grasped new, precious creative stimuli. Marco treasures all these stimulating inner experiences, which later lead him to express new sensations in his paintings. In 2009, he created "Orpheus," his "imaginary interior photojournalist," an enigmatic and contemplative character that represents himself, channeling these sensations into which he then materially expresses them on canvas.
