On a summer night with a full moon I wandered silently through the alleys of my mind, and here among the night shadows of the moon an image appears among the dim lights that despite the mysterious silence the scene commented on itself. The energy of the masculine and the feminine had joined together in a single form, they vibrated with the same air and the light of the moon accompanied the enchantment this eternal moment.

Marco Stocco, an Italian artist born in 1970, lives between Italy and Brazil. Self-taught and drawn to figurative art, he began his first paintings, often depicting enigmatic female forms and faces. Along his artistic journey, Marco moved to Brazil, where he currently resides. Initially, the pace and vibrant cultural diversity of Brazil shook him and almost disoriented him emotionally, but then, through observation, he perceived and grasped new, precious creative stimuli. Marco treasures all these stimulating inner experiences, which later lead him to express new sensations in his paintings. In 2009, he created "Orpheus," his "imaginary interior photojournalist," an enigmatic and contemplative character that represents himself, channeling these sensations into which he then materially expresses them on canvas.
