About this artwork
In my painting, I have combined the figurative, the geometry of shapes in a surreal context to represent a pose of healthy celebration. Orpheus, my inner photojournalist, represents the metaphysical being that navigates between reality and the imaginary, sits quietly and gives a red rose symbol of the seductive passion for life. He tastes with pleasure some good wine flattered to recognize in simplicity the beauty and joy of life. A cat sits next…
to him, symbol of wisdom and independence, silently observes and shares the moment. The use of bright colors and geometric shapes in the background elevates the atmosphere from a curious scene to an almost dreamlike vision. This work brings energy of quiet reflection and vivid fantasy to your home.

Marco Stocco, an Italian artist born in 1970, lives between Italy and Brazil. Self-taught and drawn to figurative art, he began his first paintings, often depicting enigmatic female forms and faces. Along his artistic journey, Marco moved to Brazil, where he currently resides. Initially, the pace and vibrant cultural diversity of Brazil shook him and almost disoriented him emotionally, but then, through observation, he perceived and grasped new, precious creative stimuli. Marco treasures all these stimulating inner experiences, which later lead him to express new sensations in his paintings. In 2009, he created "Orpheus," his "imaginary interior photojournalist," an enigmatic and contemplative character that represents himself, channeling these sensations into which he then materially expresses them on canvas.
