About this artwork
"Mists of the Past"
The author investigates abstract painting with a few figurative data to delve into a world of sensations. The suggestive color fields in ocher and gray describe perceived experiences, musty smells, cold ashlars illuminated by a dim light that evokes the past. Being a living present that speaks for itself. Marcos Carrasco uses acrylic and digital printing on canvas to display all the pictorial resources that will undoubtedly… produce an incomparable feeling among indefinite mists. It will make you close your eyes to "see" as Paul Gauguin said

« "I am a restless artist who thrives on surprise. I delve into the subconscious, unlocking the mysteries of inspiration. I don't paint the work, the work paints me." »
Marcos Carrasco is a Spanish painter who has exhibited in the United States, China, the Netherlands, Belgium and Spain. His classically inspired contemporary pieces delve into the geography of the human form and how the “skin landscape” transcends the physical and evolves into creation. Reconciling abstract creations and the figurative, Carrasco begins with the first layer in acrylics then adds oils. Next, he digitizes the piece, which is printed onto various materials such as wood and aluminium.
