About this artwork
The Endless Beach. Marcos Carrasco – “Skin Landscapes” Series
In this work, the female body is transformed into territory, into an emotional cartography that transcends any geographical location. The figure never rests: it floats, dissolves, and merges into a dreamlike landscape where flesh becomes sand and thought becomes waves.
"The Endless Beach" doesn't portray a woman: she is the horizon itself. Painted with glazes that evoke both the warmth… of the sun and the freshness of the water, the skin becomes a mutable topography, a sensorial transition. The composition breaks down the boundaries between figure and background, rendering them indistinguishable, as if the body were dreaming of the landscape and the landscape were dreaming of the body.

« "I am a restless artist who thrives on surprise. I delve into the subconscious, unlocking the mysteries of inspiration. I don't paint the work, the work paints me." »
Marcos Carrasco is a Spanish painter who has exhibited in the United States, China, the Netherlands, Belgium and Spain. His classically inspired contemporary pieces delve into the geography of the human form and how the “skin landscape” transcends the physical and evolves into creation. Reconciling abstract creations and the figurative, Carrasco begins with the first layer in acrylics then adds oils. Next, he digitizes the piece, which is printed onto various materials such as wood and aluminium.
