About this artwork
Marcos Carrasco's painting is a tribute to the supernatural beings of the sea and their relationship with the oceans. It conveys fluidity and movement, capturing the essence of these mythical entities.
The predominant colours are blue and green, evoking the depth of the sea, mixed with hints of orange that suggest sunlight. This combination creates a magical atmosphere that invites you to explore the underwater world. In the background, amphorae… emerge from the mist, symbolising the past and mythology. These carefully drawn amphorae seem to tell stories from ancient times. The dynamic texture of the painting reinforces this narrative, highlighting the connection between the real and the mythological. This work is a visual experience that celebrates the beauty and mystery of aquatic beings and their relationship with the ocean.

« "I am a restless artist who thrives on surprise. I delve into the subconscious, unlocking the mysteries of inspiration. I don't paint the work, the work paints me." »
Marcos Carrasco is a Spanish painter who has exhibited in the United States, China, the Netherlands, Belgium and Spain. His classically inspired contemporary pieces delve into the geography of the human form and how the “skin landscape” transcends the physical and evolves into creation. Reconciling abstract creations and the figurative, Carrasco begins with the first layer in acrylics then adds oils. Next, he digitizes the piece, which is printed onto various materials such as wood and aluminium.
