About this artwork
"Flight" is the first doodle-style drawing in a series made entirely with colored acrylic pen on black paper. It's a quick, almost distracted, yet alive, gestural drawing. A bird appears from the rapid gesture, as if my hand had followed the wind instead of thought. For me, black paper represents silence, while the clear line scratches the surface and becomes nature, wings, feathers, and movement. It's not a precise drawing, it's a fragment of flight…
captured in a few moments. It's a gestural, instinctive drawing that becomes an animal, an animal that becomes freedom, and freedom lasts the length of a stroke.
