A contemplative abstract evoking the quiet tension between chaos and calm, At the Beach draws on the artist’s deep connection to the River Clyde. Horizontal bands of blue—ranging from storm-dark to sky-pale—frame a central field of splattered texture, reminiscent of sea spray, ferry wakes, and childhood memories flung across Glasgow’s waters.
A thin yellow line marks the threshold between river and sea, belonging and becoming. The composition invites… reflection on identity and transformation, with the Clyde’s rhythm pulsing beneath the surface. This work speaks to the artist’s journey—from Fenland to the coast, from memory to abstraction—and offers a moment of stillness amid motion.
