About this artwork
In this duotone, composed of two canvases of 20x20x3cm each, I explored the delicacy of human relationships through a symbolic and surreal landscape. The use of vibrant and contrasting colors reflects the strong emotions and tensions hidden in everyday interactions. The division of the canvas into two parts depicts the closeness and distance in personal bonds. Each element, however simple, carries a symbolic load: the house, the tree, the road, represent… isolation, growth and life paths. This work invites us to reflect on the complexity of our human connections and the choices that lead us towards or away from others.
Maria Carmen Salis is a painter with solid artistic roots, who expresses her creativity mainly through painting. She experiments with mixed techniques and plays with light and colors, using bold brush strokes and a style that blends abstraction and figuration. Her works convey deep emotions, inviting the observer to immerse themselves in a universe made of harmony and introspection.
